Semly can join a WordPress content workflow without replacing a working Yoast SEO or Rank Math configuration. Assign an owner to each setting and inspect the resulting page. Installing another tool does not establish integration quality or a visibility improvement.
Assign responsibilities before connecting tools
The SEO plugin manages page settings, Semly supports AI-answer visibility analysis and content work, and an editor approves publication. This is a workflow division, not a claim that products never overlap. Features and plans change, so compare specific modules.
| Task | Owner in this workflow | Acceptance check |
|---|---|---|
| SEO title, description, canonical and indexing directives | Selected WordPress SEO configuration | Rendered output, including automatic templates |
| Structured data | Designated SEO or schema module | Consistent entities matching visible content |
| Monitoring questions and AI-answer review | Semly project owner | Country, language and system scope |
| Article preparation and revision | Editor supported by Semly | Sources, distinct intent and factual accuracy |
| Sending a post to WordPress | Connected Semly integration | Correct site, post and draft status |
| Publication approval | Designated editor | Content preview and SEO settings |
A post title is not the whole metadata set
The public Semly plugin documentation describes sending articles to WordPress. This does not promise automatic population of arbitrary Yoast or Rank Math fields. A post title may affect an SEO title template, but does not establish that a manually configured description changed. Inspect plugin fields and the final HTML separately.
Accept one draft before extending the workflow
- Record the current configuration and metadata sources. Do not migrate SEO plugins merely to add Semly.
- Connect the correct site and brand. Send one article as a draft; updates to existing posts should use the scope approved by the administrator.
- Compare content, SEO title, description, canonical, indexing settings and structured data in preview. Check the public version after eventual publication too; a private preview cannot establish indexability.
- Resolve conflicting settings at their source. Several consistent JSON-LD types do not automatically indicate a defect; look for duplicated or contradictory information.
- Record who owns corrections and obtain editorial approval before publication.
Record the actual scope of each tool
Yoast AI Brand Insights and Rank Math AI Visibility are AI-answer monitoring modules. Their presence does not establish a need for another tool. Record the primary observation source and the specific task assigned to Semly. Keep answer analysis, content preparation and page settings separate.
Acceptance exercise: choose a post with a manually configured SEO description and record its current value. Send the revised content as a draft to the correctly linked post. Inspect the body, WordPress title, SEO title and description separately. An unchanged description is not automatically a defect: it may still be controlled by the SEO plugin. The change must meet the agreed scope without creating a second post.
Plugin pairing and existing-post updates
The Semly plugin uses the pairing mechanism described in its documentation. Do not automatically apply standard REST API application-password instructions to it. The administrator must approve the relevant scope for existing posts. Before updating, compare the version stored in Semly with the current WordPress version to preserve later manual changes.
Complete the acceptance record
Record the correct post URL and identifier, draft status and approving editor. Check that a subsequent save updates the same post. Separate configuration acceptance from later visibility evaluation. If an SEO title or description changes, identify its source rather than assuming the integration changed it. After manual corrections, return to preview and compare the content with its metadata.
